These terms govern your use of the FindMyTrain website at findmytrain.in and the FindMyTrain Android app. By using either, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
Who we are
FindMyTrain is an independent service that shows live train running status, PNR status, station boards and timetable information for Indian Railways passengers. It is privately owned and operated.
We are not Indian Railways
FindMyTrain is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by IRCTC, Indian Railways, NTES, the Ministry of Railways or any other government body. Any reference to those names is descriptive only, to say what the information is about.
We do not sell tickets
FindMyTrain does not book, sell, reserve or cancel tickets, and takes no payment of any kind. There is no account and no login. Booking, cancellation, refunds and all money matters are between you and IRCTC, under IRCTC's own terms. Book at irctc.co.in.
The information is a copy, and it can be wrong
Train times, positions, platforms, station boards and PNR status begin as Indian Railways data and reach us through our server and third-party data providers, not directly from the railways. What you see is a copy. It can lag behind the official systems, and it can sometimes differ from them.
Nothing in FindMyTrain is a railway record. These are, and they settle any disagreement:
- PNR status: indianrail.gov.in
- Live running status, station boards and cancellations (NTES): enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/ntes
- Timetable, route and schedule: indianrail.gov.in
- Booking, fares and refunds: irctc.co.in
Platforms change and trains are diverted. Check the display at the station when you get there, and confirm anything your journey depends on against the systems above.
Alarms and tracking are aids, not guarantees
The arrival alarm, platform alerts, the home-screen widget and GPS tracking are there to help you. They depend on the data we receive, on your phone, and on Android allowing the app to run in the background. An alarm can arrive early or late, or not at all. GPS tracking estimates your position against a saved route and is an estimate on both position and delay. Do not rely on any of them alone to catch or leave a train.
How you may use the service
You may use FindMyTrain for your own travel and for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, scrape or redistribute the data in bulk, resell access, attempt to break or overload the service, or present it as an official railway source.
No warranty
FindMyTrain is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the information is accurate, complete or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FindMyTrain is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service or from reliance on the information in it, including a missed train, a missed connection, a wasted journey, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your privacy
The trains you follow, the stations you look up and your settings stay on your phone. Your location is read only when you ask to be tracked, and it does not leave the phone. A PNR you check is sent only to look it up and is never recorded. See our privacy policy for the full account.
Links to other sites
We link to railway and other third-party sites for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their terms.
Advertising
The website carries advertising, which helps keep the service free. Advertisers do not decide what the train information says.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Jalandhar, Punjab have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
