Delete your FindMyTrain app data

This page is for people who use the FindMyTrain app on Android and want their data removed. The app has no accounts, so there is no account to delete — but it does keep a little on your phone, and Google keeps a little for us.

No account Nothing tied to your name Anonymous data expires on its own

Steps

  1. Clear what the app remembers. Open the app, tap the gear, and choose Clear history. This removes your recent trains, stations, searches and saved timetables from the phone.
  2. Remove followed trains. On the home screen, swipe a followed train sideways to stop following it.
  3. Stop messages. In Settings, switch off Notifications → Service updates. That unsubscribes the app from our messages.
  4. Uninstall the app. This removes everything the app stored on your phone, including your settings.
  5. Optional — reset your advertising ID. In your phone's Android settings, under Privacy → Ads, delete or reset the advertising ID. The exact path differs a little between phones.

Why we cannot look up one person's records

The analytics and crash data are tied to a random identifier the app generates, not to your name, phone number or email, and the app never shows you that identifier. So there is nothing we can search for to find “your” records, and nothing to hand back. The steps above remove everything that exists on your phone and let the anonymous remainder expire on the schedule shown. We do not use that data to identify anyone, sell it, or share it with anyone for their own purposes.
